Biography:    

        Aliona Zhovtun, born in Sakhalin Russia, started playing violin at the age of 5. After graduating from music school at the age of 14, trained in the world-renowned music colleges in Novosibirsk and St Petersburg, cities well known for its strong musical traditions and roots.

       

        In St Petersburg she was schooled under the guidance of distinguished Prof Alexandr Stang for 2 years, during which time she played as part of a group of 1st violins with the Symphonic Orchestra of Music Comedy Theater. Prior to that Aliona played in the Veliky Novgorod Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in a group of 1st violins. While playing there, she studied in the Petrozavodsk State Conservatory under the Professorship of Klimenty Veksler to earn her specialist diploma.

 

        She holds a postgraduate degree in violin performance and teaching.

Aliona has also participated in music summer school in Val Tidone, Italy in 2005.

        In 2010 she moved to Singapore to work as a violin teacher with edvox music school before starting her family here in Singapore.

Teacher Josephine Tan

Biography:    

Ms Tan has over 10 years of piano teaching experience, ranging from beginners to diploma. In 2007 she passed her ATCL with distinction while studied degree in music and later on she passed her LTCL under teacher Ellen Chung. Besides her busy teaching schedule, Josephine also an active church pianist. In 2008 she moved to Singapore to work as piano teacher with ossia music school before starting her family here in Singapore.
